The moment between seeing and remembering

The lecture will present a complex aesthetic reflection on what happens in the mind of the photographer at the moment of taking a photograph. It will show photography as a practice of selecting from what is seen and then retaining the perceived event through the technology of capture. In an immediate sense of harmony, in which perception and memory are fused, the photographer will bring together the present and the past. Both "click" together at the moment the camera shutter is pressed, resulting in a photographic snapshot. The lecture will focus on the threefold explanation of this temporal "clasp" from the positions of the philosophical concepts of Heidegger, Derrida and Nancy.
